I’ve been providing high-quality language services for 25 years. I love what I do; and I came to do it because I first fell in love with Spain, its people, its history, its culture and, of course, Spanish – so much so that Spain has been my home for the past 35 years. I have a similar relationship with Portugal and Portuguese and make regular trips across the border.
I’ve learned and honed my craft working with government-linked organisations in the UK and the US, major Spanish media outlets, prestigious think tanks in Madrid and Barcelona, and research institutions in Europe. I translate, copyedit and proofread expert research and analysis on the trends shaping geopolitics and policymaking in Spain, the EU and globally so that it can reach English-speaking audiences. I’ve also spent many years translating, summarising and monitoring political, economic and social developments in Spain and Portugal, tracking how media in the two countries see the world.
I’m passionate about current affairs in general, and I’m particularly drawn to how geopolitics impacts:
I also work on sports (I’m mad about football and cycling), culture, history and music and feel very much at home in those spaces.
I love the work I do because I love languages, but a big plus is that it keeps me aware and engaged with what’s happening in the world. And I’m committed to my task, to finding the right voice and style to suit your text in English. I’m a perfectionist.
When I’m not working, I love being outdoors. Whether it’s riding my bike, swimming in the Atlantic or walking our dog along the beaches and through the woods near home, fresh air and exercise provide the perfect counterpoint to the hours spent at my desk.
The work will be done by me unless I specifically say otherwise.
